The doctrines professed, believed and taught are declared to be as follows:
- We believe the whole Bible, consisting of the 39 books of the Old Testament, and the 27 books of
the New Testament, to be the inspired Word of God as originally given, and therefore infallibly true
and
Divinely authoritative, and that it is His able and sufficient revelation in all matters of doctrine
and practice.
We therefore believe the Bible in its entirety to be the Word of God - not merely here
and there to convey or to contain the Word.
And we believe in the necessity of the Holy Spirit’s
influence, guiding
and teaching for the spiritual understanding of the Bible.
- We believe in the Holy Trinity - the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit - three persons of one Co-substance, Power and Eternity in the Unity of
the Godhead.
- We believe in the Redemption by the Son -
(a) That He became incarnate - begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, that He was
absolutely free from sin both in nature and in life, and that all His teaching and utterances are
true.
(b) That when the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified He offered Himself as a propitiatory and substitutionary
Sacrifice for Sin.
(c) That the Body of our Lord was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures and that in that
glorious Body He ascended into Heaven where He now sits on the right hand of God as our High Priest
and Advocate.
(d) That we are to look for the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 1:11.
- We believe in
the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son, Who by means
of the Word of God is the Author of the New Birth, the Comforter and Sanctifier and Who
dwells in the believer.
- We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he fell into sin and
thereby incurred not only physical death, but also the spiritual death which is separation from God;
that all human beings
in consequence of the fall are born with a sinful nature.
- We believe that it is the Divine Will that
repentance and remission of sins be preached in Christ’s
Name among all nations, and that everyone that repents and believes in Him is justified on the ground
of His atoning shed Blood, and that this salvation is all of God’s love and sovereign grace.
- We
believe in the necessity of the New Birth by the Holy Spirit in order that men may become children
of God; and that the evidence of the new life should be manifested by a daily walk in the Spirit.
- We
believe in the essential oneness of all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
- We believe in the resurrection
of the body, both of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of those in Christ and the eternal
punishment of those who reject Him.
